The “Finishing 360” event held at Standard Finishing headquarters in Andover, MA, was a huge success. Over two days, people gathered to see high-tech production lines from Horizon and Hunkeler, leaving with great ideas about their production future. MSL’s own Mark Culley attended the event and had this to say:
“Finishing 360 gets bigger every year. People are really excited to learn about finishing work from their inkjet webs.”
Standard’s National Demonstration and Training Center was the venue for the event, which took place on June 21st and 22nd. Finishing 360 is an annual interactive and enlightening showcase of the latest solutions in finishing and paper handling. Standard Finishing Systems, recognized as a premier supplier in this sector, meticulously curated the event. Standard showed a lineup of automated finishing and paper handling solutions, made by Horizon and Hunkeler brands.
Finishing 360 Event Overview
The event was defined by hands-on demonstrations of Horizon’s advanced finishing equipment and Hunkeler’s paper handling machines. The latest tech was on display so people could engage directly with new solutions. This included a robotic arm feeding and a new fully automated variable thickness production. Standard also showed off their iCE Link software which gives access to smart performance data and diagnostic tools, deepening their understanding of these brand new systems.
The event’s main feature was the Horizon BQ-500 Perfect Binder with case binding options. Attendees also enjoyed the Hunkeler Horizon Roll-to-Saddlestitch line. This roll-to-saddlestitch was an exceptional production line shown at the event. It had Hunkeler’s Generation 8 Unwinder combined with Horizon’s iCE StitchLiner Mark V Saddlestitcher. This display provided everyone a glimpse into the high production rates possible with such a dynamic pairing.
“This event is always a great opportunity for people to experience a full range of Hunkeler and Horizon solutions outside of a busy trade show setting. We’re eager to see everyone in June.”
New Pre-Owned Program from Standard
Beyond showing new technology exhibits, Standard took the opportunity to introduce us to a new program. A special pre-owned equipment program is starting up. Standard offered valuable info about the trade-in and buyback program. The service team was available, answering any questions about their support options. This included service contracts, parts, preventative maintenance, as well as on-site and remote support.
The Director of Sales at Standard, Paul Steinke, captured the event’s excitement. Paul stated “This event always presents a fantastic opportunity for us and our customers to experience the full range of Hunkeler and Horizon solutions, all outside of the typical hustle and bustle of a trade show environment.
The pre-owned program will be a great solution for difficult acquisitions. Mid-State Litho and Standard will be proud to offer this equipment at a lower rate. These opportunities are always changing with the inventory that is available. Contact us to see what equipment is available for your special print finishing application.
Finishing 360 lived up to its promise, offering a 360 degree perspective on these future technologies in the print industry. The event served as an exceptional way for customers, partners, and industry insiders could gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. It also helps create a collaborative environment for idea exchange and exploration of new ideas and challenges within the industry.
As we wrap up this year’s event, our anticipation builds for the next edition of Finishing 360. We eagerly look forward to the next year’s news and advancements that it promises to bring. Here’s to another year of advancing the print finishing industry to smart manufacturing!
