MGI Unveils JETvarnish 3D at Drupa 2012

MGI’s booth was buzzing with excitement this year at Drupa as they unveiled new, progressive technology which will change the world of print. One such technology was the JETvarnish 3D, a digital spot UV coater capable of spot embossing. The JETvarnish 3D will 3D emboss directly on digital, inkjet and even offset prints ranging from A3 / 11.69×16.54” to 20 x 29″, no coating or lamination required. This embossing technique creates a textured and raised effect which will inspire unique marketing applications, as consumers can both see and feel the texture produced by the JETvarnish 3D. The marriage between both visual and tactile appeal creates a unique, engaging and special experience for the consumer, which is every marketer’s dream.

JETvarnish 3D

The JETvarnish 3D is variable data capable, so printers can offer customers a personalized and versatile product. Professional printers appreciate JETvarnish’s cost effectiveness, whether running one print or one-thousand plus. Like other MGI products, the JETvarnish is environmentally friendly, ozone and solvent-free. Set-up is easy and does not require plates, screens or clean-up between jobs. Printers who need to focus on high-volume UVcoating sans the 3D embossing will appreciate the JETvarnish 3D’s high speeds, approximately three times faster than the original JETvarnish at up to 3,000 sheets per hour.

MGI’s JETvarnish 3D is currently available for order, installation beginning in fall 2012.
