Guten Tag from Grand Blanc! We went to Essen, Germany, where we had the privilege of touring the venerable WOESTE DRUCK + VERLAG GmbH & Co. KG print shop during our DRUPA attendance. If you’re in the printing industry, you know that Germany sets a high bar for quality and innovation, and this visit reinforced that reputation.
Historical Tour
The oldest print shop in Essen, WOESTE DRUCK + VERLAG is a true institution with a 92-year history. Walking through their facility was like stepping back in time, yet also into the future. They’ve seamlessly blended centuries of printing tradition with cutting-edge technology. Their commitment to high-quality printing was evident in every corner, from the meticulous organization of their workspace to the state-of-the-art equipment humming quietly in the background. We were particularly struck by their attention to detail and their unwavering focus on precision. It’s this dedication to excellence that has allowed them to thrive for so long.
We were fortunate enough to have Jorg Behrendt as our guide, and his passion for the craft was infectious. We learned so much from him and his team about their processes, their challenges, and their vision for the future. They highlighted an impressive commitment to sustainability and their efforts to minimize their environmental impact. It’s clear that WOESTE DRUCK + VERLAG is not just a business, but a family dedicated to tradition.
This trip was a reminder of the importance of staying connected to the global print community. It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day operations and lose sight of the bigger picture. Visiting WOESTE DRUCK + VERLAG and witnessing their dedication firsthand has re-energized us. We’re excited to bring some of that German precision and passion back home to Grand Blanc and incorporate it into our own work.
At Mid State Litho, we’ve always strived to push the boundaries of what’s possible in printing. This trip has reaffirmed our commitment to that goal. We’re inspired to continue learning, growing, and innovating, so we can provide our clients with the highest quality printing services possible.
Thank You Woeste Druck + Verlag
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jorg Behrendt and the entire WOESTE DRUCK + VERLAG team for their hospitality and for sharing their knowledge with us. We’re proud to be part of the same industry as such a dedicated and talented group of individuals.
As we look to the future, we’re excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. The printing industry is constantly evolving, and we’re committed to staying at the forefront of those changes. We believe that by combining the best of both worlds – German precision and American ingenuity – we can continue to create printed products that exceed our clients’ expectations.
Thank you for following along on our journey. We can’t wait to share what we’ve learned with you and continue to create beautiful, impactful printed materials together.
